Blue Fig was appointed to undertake the design and fit out of the new HQ for this division of D S Smith PLC in November 2007. The project involved the office relocation from their Taplow paper mill facility in Maidenhead into alternative accommodation in the nearby Whitebrook Business Park. The new office building (Beech House) was in the process of being restored to a Cat A standard by the Landlord and Blue Fig were employed by the client to propose design schemes for the Cat B fit out. It was soon apparent that the 10,200 sq ft building needed a radical change to suit the needs of the client and as a result a new double height glazed atrium and extension with new staircase was designed and constructed by Blue Fig. The project also involved new partitioning, electrical, mechanical, data cabling and plumbing works as well as the supply and installation of desking, storage, meeting and soft seating. Of particular importance to the client were their meeting room facilities and a 24 person Walnut Boardroom Table was also supplied by Blue Fig. Blue Fig was on site for 12 weeks. Following on from this project Blue Fig has undertaken a number of other projects for D S Smith including additional works at Beech House, the design and fit out of 3 floors for D S Smith PLC in their London offices and works in their Packaging Divisions Midlands offices in Henley in Arden.
